Verdict reserved in Noor Muqaddam murder case

ISALMABAD Jul 28,2021- Islamabad court approved three days physical remand of Zahir Zafar, the main accused in the murder case.

During the hearing of the Noor Mukadam murder case, the judge asked as to why the prosecution was seeking remand. Prosecution lawyer Sajid Cheema informed the court that the CCTV videos of the incident have been obtained, the accused has to be taken to Lahore and forensic CCTV footage.

The public prosecutor urged the court to allow a three-day physical remand of the accused.

The lawyer for the accused said that if a forensic test is required then take photos, as arms and mobile phones have been recovered, no further physical remand is needed.

The complainant’s lawyer said that the accused had to be taken to Lahore.

The government lawyer said that in the Usman Mirza case, all the accused were taken to Lahore.

The court approved a further three-day physical remand of the accused Zahir Jafar, who will be produced before the court on July 31.

It may be recalled that Islamabad police had arrested the accused Zahir from his house on the night of July 20, where according to Noor’s parents, the accused had killed with a sharp tool and beheaded her.
