ISLAMABAD Jul 28,2021 –Senate body on Human Rights was briefed about Noor murder case on Wednesday. 

IG Police Islamabad briefed the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights was  about the Noor Mukadam murder case.

The meeting of Senate body on Human Rights chaired by Senator Waleed Iqbal, was held on Wednesday, for after taking notice of the Noor murder case.

Chairman of the committee Waleed Iqbal said that the Additional Secretary and others from the Ministry of Home Affairs were to attend the meeting but they did not come.

The meeting prayed for all the victims of violence.

Senator Waleed Iqbal said that from 2011 to 2017, more than 51,000 incidents of violence against women occurred.

The Chairman of Senate Committee said that IG Islamabad has requested his in camera briefing.

IG Islamabad police told the meeting that every day there is new progress, there are many things, which cannot be disclosed publicly.

Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari said the family of the victim did not want to bring the matter to the public.

Senator Musharraf Hussain Syed suggested that some basic facts be made public and sensitive topics should be in camera.
