ISLAMABAD Jul 28, 2021 – Arbab Rahim will advise PM on Sindh Affairs as Prime Minister Imran Khan as a political move has appointed former Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim as his honourary advisor on Sindh Affairs.
PTI unfolds strategy to counter PPP in Sindh
The ruling party Pakistan Tehreek -e- Insaf is unfolding its political strategy about Sindh to counter Pakistan Peoples Party.
Arbab Ghulam Rahim who was ally of the PTI in 2018 elections, but did not join the ruling party till few backs back. Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi persuaded him, and after meeting with the Prime Minister, former Sindh CM joined the PTI.
In 2018 elections Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi also contested on two NA seats from Sindh – Umerkot and Thar. Arbab Rahim supported him, though he lost both seats.
Arbab has influence in Thar and Umerkot districts, where he lost all seats. Political analysts believe that Arbab has joined hands with the PTI to regain his political strength in next local bodies elections, which are expected to be announced in coming few months.
Two weeks back, PTI MNA from Umerkot Lal Malhi arranged a meeting of federal minister Asad Umer with half a dozen Sindhi intellectuals living in Islamabad.
Another development was witnessed in Sindh three weeks back when ove two dozen electable and Waderas plus some religious parties’ leaders had a meeting to formulate an anti PPP strategy in the Sindh province.
