Sindh to receive 2000 Afghans in Kabul pullout operation

KARACHI Aug 27, 2021 – Sindh to receive 2000 Afghans in Kabul pullout operation and Sindh government is making arrangements for those coming from Afghanistan will stay in Karachi for a few days, says a letter issued by the Commissioner Karachi.

Deputy Commissioner Malir will make arrangements on emergency basis at the airport premises and make arrangements for security, boarding, transport and other facilities.

The Sindh government has started immediate arrangements for the accommodation of Afghan and foreign nationals after the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the provincial government has issued a letter in this regard.

In a letter issued to the DG Rangers, IG Police, Secretary Health Department and concerned agencies of the Commissioner’s Office, it is said that about 2,000 Afghans and foreigners will reach to Karachi from Afghanistan in 3-4 days.

The letter said that DC Malir should make arrangements with the help of PDMA and law enforcement agencies, and also identified nearby hotels for accommodation of guests at the airport.   

In addition, the Department of Health has been asked to deploy ambulance and medical staff, further instructions have been issued ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity at the identified locations. The letter further said people coming from Afghanistan will bear their own expenses at the living places.
