Power to appoint Army Chief rests with Prime Minister, Bilawal Bhutto

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the authority to appoint the Army Chief rests with the Prime Minister, all the institutions of Pakistan are independent, the democratic government believes in the freedom of the media.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while talking to the editor-in-chief of the American organization “Foreign Policy” in Washington said that India has not offered us aid and we do not want aid from India.

He said that the floods caused great destruction in Pakistan, steps are being taken to rehabilitate the victims, the international community should support us in this time of trouble.

He said that we have taken tough decisions to restore the economy, we want better relations with the US, we would like to take the relations with the US in a new direction in the future.

The foreign minister further said that China has always helped Pakistan in difficult times, Pakistan wants good relations with neighboring countries.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that due to the war in Afghanistan neighboring countries have lost, we want a peaceful Afghanistan.

He further said that any form of democracy is better than dictatorship, we believe in democratic traditions and will not support undemocratic measures.
