 ISLAMABAD, March 30,2022- The united opposition gave a big surprise to the government before voting on the no-confidence motion, the main coalition party MQM (Pakistan) also left the government, as the united opposition and the MQM reached an agreement, which reportedly also was signed.

The MQM has decided to support the no-confidence motion, after the ruling coalition partner MQM backed the opposition, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has lost majority in the National Assembly, leaving the government at number 164 in the National Assembly. The united opposition reached 177.

Opposition leaders arrived at Parliament Lodges last night and met with MQM leaders.

According to opposition sources, MQM will support the opposition in the no-confidence motion. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has also confirmed that the opposition has reached an agreement with the MQM, which will be formally announced today.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that an agreement has been reached between the united opposition and MQM. The MQM Coordinating Committee and the PPP Central Executive Committee will ratify the agreement.

Late last night, ruling party leaders Pervez Khattak and Shah Mehmood Qureshi also telephoned the MQM leadership.

According to sources, the MQM has been assured that the amendment in the Sindh local body laws will be withdrawn and an MQM administrator will be appointed in Karachi and Hyderabad by Friday before the no-confidence vote. A dozen MQM offices will be opened in Hyderabad.

The delegation of opposition leaders includes Khawaja Asif, Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Murad Ali Shah, Murtaza Wahab, Saeed Ghani and Khawaja Saad Rafique. Akhtar Mengal, Ayaz Sadiq and other leaders were present.

On behalf of MQM, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Aamir Khan, Wasim Akhtar, Kanwar Naveed Jameel were present in the meeting.

Earlier, a government delegation led by Shah Mehmood Qureshi called on the top leadership of MQM but failed.
