President Dr. Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly

ISLAMABAD, April 3,2022- The President Dr. Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly on the recommendation of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan had sent a proposal to President Dr Arif Ali to dissolve the assemblies and  the President Dr. Arif Alvi dissolved the National Assembly.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in his address to the nation said that the no-confidence motion planned from outside has been rejected by the Speaker. I would like to congratulate the nation. The nation will not allow such a conspiracy to succeed.

He said that the President has been advised to dissolve the assemblies and the nation should prepare for new elections.

Earlier, while presiding over an important session of the National Assembly, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri rejected the no-confidence motion of the opposition against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri termed the no-confidence motion of united opposition as unconstitutional.

No-confidence motion not put for voting No confidence
He said that no foreigner has the right to bring a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.

The Deputy Speaker refused to vote on the no-confidence motion and adjourned the National Assembly indefinitely.

 Opposition sit-in

After the no-confidence motion was rejected, the opposition staged a sit-in in the National Assembly.

Opposition members chanted slogans against the government.

Bilawal Bhutto said in tweet Government has violated constitution. did not allow voting on no confidence motion. The united opposition is not leaving parliament. Our lawyers are on their way to Supreme Court. We call on ALL institutions to protect, uphold, defend & implement the constitution of Pakistan

Maryam Nawaz said in her tweet No one should be allowed to distort the constitution of Pakistan to save his seat. If this crazy and obsessive person is not punished for this crime, then the law of the jungle will prevail in this country after today!

Ahsan Bhoon appeals Supreme Court to take action without any delay

Supreme Court Bar Association President Ahsan Bhoon has appealed to the Chief Justice to take action without any delay or it will be too late, he told Geo News.

He said that if the judiciary remained silent and the rabbit was sleeping, then it would be a matter for them too. It was their turn.

An appeal has been made to the Chief Justice to take immediate action. If the custodians of the constitution do not come forward, undemocratic forces will come. According to him, there is already a petition in the Supreme Court bar.
