Vice chancellor Anila Rehman sent on compulsory leave
. CM orders probe into affairs which led to death of two students
KARACHI, Feb 13,2022- The Vice Chancellors of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana Anila Rehman has been sent on compulsory leave and investigation has been started against the Vice Chancellors of both the universities.
On the directive of Sindh, Vice Chancellor Dr. Anila Atta Rehman was sent on forced leave.
Interim charge of Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Larkana handed over to Dr. Hakim Abro. The committee headed by Prof Mohammad Saeed Quraishy Vice Chancellor, Dow Medical University will complete the inquiry against both the VCs within 45 days and submit a report to the Chief Minister of Sindh. The other members of the committee are Prof Dr Saleem Raza Samo VC QUEST Nawabshah, Prof Dr Sajida Dean Faculty of surgery Liaquat Medical university Jamshoro.
Secretary of universities and boards Mureed Rahimoo issued the notification issued by the orders of Sindh Chief Minister says, apparent negligence, mismanagement and maladministration during the incumbency of Dr. Anila Atta Rehman Benazir Bhutto University Larkana, including the incidents of suicidal deaths of students (namely Dr Nimarata and Dr Noshin Shah) which raise the questions about the way and manner affairs of the university are managed.
Noshin Shah Case: University administration questions disclosure of DNA report
The committee has been assigned with the terms of reference: to probe into and fix responsibility for the alleged negligence, mismanagement and maladministration of Dr. Anila Atta Rehman Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University which led to tragic incidents of deaths at hostels of Chandka Medical college and further to probe into various irregularities as highlighted by the Audit.
A few days ago, in the DNA report of both the students, same predator was reported to be involved.
Vice Chancellor of Lyari University have been sent on compulsory leave.
The investigation has been started against the Vice Chancellors of both the universities. VC of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Lyari Akhtar Baloch was also sent on forced leave. Dr. Amjad Siraj Memon has been given charge. VC Akhtar Baloch is accused of harassing a member of Sindh Assembly.
Dr. Noshin’s DNA report shows appalling disclosures as DNA sample of same male was found in the samples of two deceased medical students.
Nimrata was found dead in her hostel room on September 16, 2019 and Dr Noshin was found dead in her hostel room in Nov 2021.
It may be noted that judicial probe was conducted into the death of Nimrata Chandani, but it was not shred with the university authorities. While judicial probe has been ordered to investigate the cause of death of Dr Noshin Shah. This probe is yet to start.
Sindh health minister Dr Azra Pechuho has already announced to present DNA and judicial probe report of Nimrata Chandani in the Sindh Assembly.
Political and social organizations across the Larkana city have been in a frenzy after the release of the forensic report of Dr. Noshin, a MBBS fourth year student of Chandka Medical College, from Jamshoro. A series of demonstrations and rallies started. The issue was trending on social media.
Liaquat Medical & Health Sciences University Jamshoro has revealed in the forensic report of Dr. Noshin, a student who was mysteriously killed, that the same ingredients of male were found on the body and clothes of Dr. Noshin, the body of Dr. Nimrata, a BDS student who died in mysterious circumstance two years ago. Surprisingly, the report says that up to 50% similarity has been found in these DNA components.
