US reaction on arrests and protests in Pakistan
On the protests and arrests in Pakistan, the US State Department has said that it does not have a position on any political candidate or party.
During a press briefing in Washington, US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said that we believe that protests and expressions of opinion should be non-violent, without harming government employees or property.

He further said that the arrests should be in accordance with the law, a strong, stable and prosperous Pakistan is important for Pakistan-US relations.
