Two supremos Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif have opposed the recent increase in petrol products.

Former President Asif  Zardari expressed concern over the increase in the price of petroleum products and said that there must be consultation on such decisions.

Responding to the increase in petrol, in a statement posted on the official Twitter account of Pakistan People’s Party, the former president said that we all have come in this government to give relief to the people, and that should be should be our first priority.

Increase in petroleum products prices announced

We are all here in this government to give relief to the people and that should be our top priority, President Zardari said and added, “I am with the Prime Minister and will meet him soon and will also talk about the economic team”.

Nawaz Sharif opposes decision

Earlier reaction of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz on the increase in the price of petrol was recorded.

The government increased the price of petrol by 6 rupees 72 paise per liter while changing the prices of petroleum products.

Later, Maryam Nawaz said in her response on the social networking website, ‘I stand with the people.’ Can’t support this decision.

Maryam Nawaz further said that Mian Nawaz Sharif strongly opposed the decision to increase the price of petroleum products and even said that I cannot burden the people with one more penny and if there is any compulsion from the government. If so, I am not involved in this decision and left the meeting.
