20 persons burnt alive as oil tanker collides with bus near Multan
MULTAN Aug 16,2022- At least 20 persons were burnt alive and six other injured as a passenger bus collided with an oil tanker on M-5 between Uch Sharif and Multan in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The accident occurred at the Motorway M5 Jalalpur Peerwala interchange where a bus going to Karachi from Lahore collided with an oil tanker due to which both vehicles caught fire, killing at least 20 persons.
Multan Deputy Commissioner Tahir Wattoo and Multan Commissioner Amir Khattak confirmed the incident.

Motorway police and rescue teams reached the spot after the accident and started rescue operation. Rescue sources said that 26 persons including driver and conductor were traveling on the bus.
A motorway police spokesperson said the tanker was carrying thousands of litres of petrol. He added that the apparent cause of the accident was the bus driver falling asleep.
