Ministry of Defense requests Supreme Court to hold simultaneous elections across the country

ISLAMABAD, April 5,2022- Reporters have been barred from entering the Supreme Court of Pakistan during the hearing of the Deputy Speaker National Assembly’s ruling and suo moto notice on the current situation.

According to police, no journalist other than members of the Press Association of the Supreme Court is allowed to enter.

Journalists have been barred from entering the Supreme Court through the main gate of the parking lot.

A five-member larger bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial is hearing the case of suo moto notice on the constitutional and political situation of the country.

In the hearing held yesterday, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial remarked that how they went to the voting without holding a debate, the court will not decide in the air, the questions of the court will have to be answered, we also want to decide soon. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that not allowing discussion was a flaw in the procedure.

Justice Muneeb Akhtar remarked that apparently, the Deputy Speaker used the power of the Speaker which was not the power of the Deputy Speaker.
