President Arif Alvi excuses from performing his constitutional duty
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi not took oath in first phase
14 of PMLN, 9 of PPP, 4 of JUI, 2 members of MQM taken in cabinet
ISLAMABAD: April 19,2022- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s 34 member cabinet has been sworn in in the first phase at an oath-taking ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjarani administered the oath to the members of the federal cabinet, instead of President Arif Alvi as he excused himself from performing his constitutional duty.
Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is not part of the first phase of federal cabinet. Likewise, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is not among those taking the oath.
Federal Ministers included Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Ayaz Sadiq, Maryam Aurangzeb, Azam Nazir Tarar, Muftiah Ismail, Javed Latif, Syed Naveed Qamar, Syed Khurshid Shah, Sherry Rahman, Shazia Marri, Abdul Qadir Patel, Talha Mahmood, Faisal Sabzwari, Aminul Haq, Mohammad Israr Tareen, Abid Hussain, Abdul Wasay, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Murtaza Mahmood, Sajid Hussain Turi, Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Riaz Hussain Pirzada.
National Assembly: Opposition meets, 195 votes in favor of no-confidence
Qamar Zaman Kaira, Aun Chaudhry, Muftiah Ismail and Engineer Amir Iqbal as Advisors, while Hina Rabbani Khar, Aisha Ghaus Pasha and Abdul Rahman Kanjo took oath as Ministers for state.
Those took oath included 14 members of the PMLN, 9 of the PPP, 4 of the JUI, 2 members of the MQM, as well as members of the PML-Q and the Jamhoori Watan Party.
