Schools to remain open as virus cases surges to 35.30%.

KARACHI, Jan 15,2022- In Karachi, the country’s largest city Pakistan, the positive rate of corona virus cases has reached 35.30%. However the schools would remain open.

Provincial Task Force meeting on Corona virus chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and decided that the schools would remain open

The Task Force decided that the educational activities will continue.

It further decided to conduct survey of all public and private hospitals to look at the capacity of hospitals.

The survey will ascertain how much capacity there is in hospitals and how much more is needed.

Sindh Chief Minister said that wearing masks in public places has been made mandatory, and the government officials who do not wear masks will be fined equal to  one day’s salary.

NCOC launches nationwide special vaccination campaign

It has been made mandatory to wear masks in all wedding halls, markets and public places. It has been instructed to give food box in wedding ceremonies and the vaccinated people will be allowed to enter the markets.

The administration will have to check the vaccination card record.

It was decided to intensify the government’s vaccination campaign across the province and SOPs will be strictly implemented.

Sindh Chief Minister said the rise in corona cases is the result of not taking precautionary measures. He said, if the people cooperate, this ongoing Corona wave will also be brought under control.

According to federal officials, 8,063 corona tests were conducted in Karachi yesterday, as a result of which 2,846 people were diagnosed with corona.

In Rawalpindi, the rate of positive cases of Corona was recorded at 9.94%, in Lahore at 8.5% and in Islamabad at 6.95%.

Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, recorded 11.90 percent positive cases of corona virus.

At the national level, the positive rate of corona virus cases has reached 8.16%.
