PSL-6: figures of previous series matches

Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 festival is starting again on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.

The series of matches is about to start from where it stopped. The first 14 matches of PSL were played at the National Stadium Karachi.

What happened in these 14 matches? Which batsman tops the list? And which bowler has taken the most wickets so far? Which team is in which position in the points table?

Points table:

If you look at the points table of the league, 4 out of 6 teams are such that they are in the first 4 positions on the table with 6, 6 points.

Karachi Kings is at the top with six points. Although Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have the same number of points. Karachi Kings has the first position in the points table based on better net run rate (0.697).

Peshawar Zalmi also won three matches and lost two during the early stages of the league. Peshawar Zalmi, who scored 6 points, has a net run rate of 0.273.

Islamabad United is third in the points table with a net run rate of 0.202.

Similarly, Lahore Qalandars, who have won three matches and lost one, are fourth in the points table.

Multan Sultans are fifth with just one win in five matches of the event, while Quetta Gladiators are last in the points table.

PLS-6 Points Table

Top batsmen:

Both the openers of the national T20 cricket team are prominent in the list of players who have scored the most runs in the first 14 matches of the tournament.

Leading the list is wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, who has so far scored 297 runs in five matches with an average of 59.4 and a strike rate of 140.09, during which he has also scored three half-centuries.

Karachi Kings opener Babar Azam has also scored 258 runs at an average of 86 in five league matches while his strike rate was 138.7.

Opener Sharjeel Khan is the only batsman to score a century in the first 14 matches of the league played in Karachi. He has scored 200 runs in five league matches so far. During this time, their strike rate was 170.94. Sharjeel Khan, who has so far averaged 40 runs in the tournament, scored a century and a half-century.

Highest wickets:

Peshawar Zalmi’s fast bowler Saqib Mehmood is the most successful bowler of the sixth edition of the league so far with an average of 12.08 in five matches of the event and an overall economy rate of 7.98 with 12 wickets in total. He also took 3 wickets for 12 runs.

Second on the list is Shaheen Shah Afridi. The Lahore Qalandars fast bowler has so far taken 9 wickets at an average of 12.55 in 4 matches. During this time, taking 3 wickets for 14 runs was his best bowling in any match of the event.

Multan Sultans young fast bowler Shahnawaz Dhani has also taken 9 wickets in the event so far, but during this time he averaged more than 17 in 4 matches. The best bowler in a match of the fast bowler’s tournament which proved to be a bit expensive was 3 wickets for 44 runs.

There has been only one occasion in the tournament where a bowler has taken 4 wickets in an innings. Peshawar Zalmi’s captain and fast bowler Wahab Riaz’s bowling spell was against Islamabad United, when he led 17 players to the pavilion with 17 runs.

Total score:

Peshawar Zalmi’s 202 for 7 in 19.3 overs in pursuit of 199 runs in a match against Quetta Gladiators was the highest total of any team participating in the Karachi League in an innings. In this match, Quetta Gladiators batted first and scored 198 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Thus, the lowest score in a match against Peshawar Zalmi was limited to 118 runs in 17.1 overs by Islamabad United.
