Nirmala Meghani serves legal notice to composer Zulfi

The musical theft controversy escalated during the 14th season of the musical show Coke Studios, where Nirmala Meghani has now sent a legal notice of Rs 100 million to composer Zulfi.

The notice was sent by Nirmala Meghani’s legal team for a copyright infringement of a Coke Studio Season 14 song “Tu Jhoom”.

The notice addressed Zulfi and said that Nirmala had sent her compositions to Zulfi in June 2021 in the hope that he would get a big break, to which Zulfi did not respond.

It said that instead of responding, the same compositions suddenly appeared in a Coke studio song.

Zulfi has been asked to stop using this song immediately as you do not have the right to upload or post it on YouTube unless you get formal permission from Nirmala.

It states that you are directed to obtain permission or obtain a license while deleting it from any social media site, YouTube and Coke Studio 14 as it violates Nirmala’s rights.

With the performances of legendary Sufi singers Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal, the 14th season of Pakistan’s popular music show ‘Coke Studio’ started with the brilliant song ‘Tu Jhoom’.

In response to the aforesaid notice, Giraffe Pakistan has said that we have received the legal notice and our legal team will respond.

Producer Zulfi has been accused of stealing music for Pakistan’s recently released song “Tu Jhoom” by Pakistan’s leading music show “Coke Studio”.

A statement from the show’s management denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning the music industry have been made more than once. Siddiqui started working on the song in May.

It may be recalled that singer Nirmala Meghani from Umerkot has accused Coke Studio of stealing her music for season 14’s song ‘Tu Jhoom’. Nirmala has alleged the show’s producer Zulfi since the beginning of this season that she had previously sent as a demo of this music.
