PDM to observe big sit-in in front of the Supreme Court on Monday

ISLAMABAD Jan 25,2022 – Opposition alliance PDM has decided not to change the date of Long March on March 23.

A meeting of PDM was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rehman in which eight recommendations of the steering committee including no-confidence motion were considered.

The PDM meeting agreed that the stay of the Long March in Islamabad would be kept secret and details of the sit-in would be released near the Long March.

During the meeting, the steering committee suggested that if the PPP wanted to participate in the PDM’s long march, it will be allowed to join it.

It was suggested that any change in the Long March would not make a good impression.

The PDM summit rejected the presidential system and described it as a blow to national identity.

On this occasion, SBP Amendment Bill and mini budget were also rejected and it was said that PDM Summit has also rejected SBP Amendment Bill and mini budget.  

The PDM leaders took the position that they reject the burden of increasing public taxes. The bill will be withdrawn immediately after the change of government.

It was agreed in the PDM meeting that the passage of the amendment bill in the name of SBP sovereignty would be completely blocked in the Senate.

Nawaz Sharif backs Fazlur Rehman’s proposal

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has backed the proposal of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.  

On this occasion, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that government allies are also hesitant due to anti-people policies.

He said that the opposition should hold serious talks with the coalition parties.

The PDM chief suggested that the coalition parties should be persuaded of their position.

He said that if the allies supported the opposition in the House, there would be no need for no-confidence motion.

His proposal was supported by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.

Tahir Ashrafi urges to postpone date

Prime Minister’s Special Envoy for the Middle East Tahir Ashrafi has said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) should change the date of its march.

In his statement, Tahir Ashrafi said that the leadership of the Islamic world will be in Islamabad on March 22 and 23.
