KARACHI: As residents of old villages continued their protest and right activists and intelligentsia storm the social media with support messages, Sindh Minister for Information and local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, along with assembly members from Malir Saleem Baloch and Sajid Jokhio reached Goth Siraj Ahmed and met with people of the affected area.

He told the villagers that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken notice of the incident.

Nasir Shah assured that the concerns of the people living in the Goth will be overcome and added that details have been sought from the Deputy Commissioner and Revenue Officers.

He said police SHO, Mukhtiarkar and Assistant Commissioner of the area concerned have been removed.

Sindh information Minister Syed Nasir Shah on special instructions Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached arrive at Jinnah Hospital to enquire about the health of the injured villager.

Member National Assembly Jam Abdul Karim and Member Provincial Assembly Saleem Baloch also accompanied him.

Mr Shah said Bilawal Bhutto has instructed to provide the best treatment facilities to the victim. He said no injustice will be done with any one and added the victims will be fully supported.

One day back PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto met with a delegation of party office bearers from Malir.

On Friday a resident of Karachi’s Gadap Town Shaukat Khaskheli was shot at and wounded in firing allegedly carried out by private guards during Bahria Town Karachi’s (BTK) attempt to bulldoze several agricultural lands to pave the way for housing projects in the rural area of the city.

Around 100 residents put up resistance. A local threw a stone towards the BTK personnel, the guards opened fire at the villagers. At least one villager, Shaukat Khaskheli, sustained a bullet injury, while another suffered minor injuries.
