Maulana Fazl better option for establishment: ANP leader says

PESHAWAR Dec 21,2021- Given the specific circumstances of the region, the Establishment needs Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the Establishment wants good relations with the present government of Afghanistan and Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a better option for achieving this goal.

Former Senator Zahid Khan, the central leader of the Awami National Party, said this in an interview.

He said, if Maulana Fazlur Rehman received support from the Establishment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local bodies elections, it is likely that the main reason was the Taliban’s rise in Afghanistan.

He added that if this is true then Balochistan will also go to the Jamiat Ulemae Islam after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Awami National Party leader said that the LB elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not be termed transparent because of pre-poll rigging because all the ministers and advisers were participating in the election campaign, despite the Election Commission’s objections, PM Imran Khan visited the province.

Fawad terms JUI as extremist party

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) bagged 21, PTI won 15, ANP in 6, independent candidates won 10 seats, Nawan League won three, Jamaat-e-Islami 2, Peoples Party won one seat each while Pakistan Reform Party and Labor Workers Party won one seat.

PTI admits defeat

On the other hand, Tehreek-e-Insaf has admitted its defeat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa LB elections. Provincial Minister Shaukat Yusufzai has termed price hike inflation reason of defeat.

Federal Minister Shibbli Faraz said there was PTI versus PTI contest otherwise 14 districts would have been won.
