HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HSECO) has sought police help to stop the power theft and has written letter to police to register cases against 12 people for water theft.

HESCO Spokesman Sadiq Kubbar confirmed the issuance of letter to police and said, his company has issued a press release also.

SDO Syed Aqib Shah, HESCO Citizens’ Colony sub division wrote a letter to SHO Bhittai Nagar Police Station, Hyderabad stating that 15 persons were involved in illegal  reconnecting the disconnected power connections  therefore cases may be registered against them under relevant laws.

According to letter of Syed Saqib Shah, SDO of Hesco Sub-Division Citizen Colony, nominated 12 residents of Gulistan-e- Sajjad, Mid City Gulsitan Sajjad, Lifestyle Gulistan Sajjad, Marvi Cottage, Mehran Gold, New Citizens Colony, Model Town, Marvi Town, Alamdar Chowk, Sajjadabad, and Citizens Plaza.

Hesco said they were involved in illegal power theft and patronage of Kanda system against whom FIR should be registered and arrested.

The letter said, due to illegal reconnection company sustained huge loss of revenue.

HESCO officials said that police have not taken any action against the nominated persons.

However, letter did not mention the outstanding amount against the nominated persons which caused the disconnections.
