First Omi Cron case reported in Pakistan

KARACHI Dec 09,2021- The first case of Omi Cron variant has been reported in Pakistan. This case has been reported in a private hospital in Karachi.

A private hospital has confirmed Omi Cron in a female patient.

 According to Sindh Health Department officials, the affected woman has come from abroad and is Corona positive.Sindh Health Department officials said they were investigating the travel history of the patient from a private hospital.Sindh Health Department officials also said that they were trying to trace the woman.

Parliamentary Secretary Health Qasim Soomro briefs media

Sindh Parliamentary Secretary Health Qasim Soomro while told the media said that the first test of Corona’s Omi variant has come positive.

He said that the travel history of the victim was being ascertained.

Qasim Soomro said that with the opening of international flights, it was clear that there would be an Omi Cron variant.

New corona virus variant named “Omicron”, classed more dangerous

He added that in some cases of Omi Cron globally, PCR tests were not positive.

 Parliamentary Health Secretary Sindh also said that the new variant of Corona virus has changed a lot, while our existing PCR kits are focused on Delta variant.

He also said that all the passengers of the flight from which the woman came will also undergo corona test.

It may be noted that the first case of Corona virus was also reported in Karachi.

Female patient shifted to home

The Sindh Health Department said that a woman infected with Omi Cron’s variant of Corona virus in Karachi is a resident of Eastern District, who has been shifted home from the hospital.

According to the Sindh Health Department, the woman infected with Omi Cron’s was 65 years old who had not been vaccinated against Corona.

The Sindh Health Department has also revealed that no travel history of the victim has come to light. Four persons, including a woman, were tested on suspicion of Omi Cron.

According to the Sindh Health Department, the four persons were admitted to a private hospital, out of which two persons, including the woman, were confirmed to have corona virus, while the result of one patient is awaited.

 The Sindh Health Department also said that 2 persons have been sent home, while 2 patients are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Out of these 4 persons, 1 person has been vaccinated.
