Azam Swati's bail plea hearing postponed

ISLAMABAD, March  15,2022- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) fined Federal Minister Railways Azam Khan Swati with Rs 50,000 for violating the electoral code of conduct.

According to the ECP, Azam Swati has been directed to submit a receipt by depositing a fine of Rs. 50,000 by March 17.

According to the Election Commission, District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Mansehra, Hayatullah Jan Marwat had fined the federal minister.

The DMO warned that the case will be sent to the Election Commission for action if Azam Swati again violated the electoral code of conduct.

On March 7, the DMO issued a notice to Azam Swati for threatening voters and violating the electoral code and directed him to appear March 10.

According to the DMO, the federal minister campaigned for the Tehsil chairman’s election in the local bodies polls.

The voters were reportedly threatened during the election campaign and were told that they would not receive funds if the government candidate was defeated.
