Coal company tortured 11 people, says Shahnila Rath

ISLAMABAD 12,2021- The coal company tortured 11 people and Dodo Bheel was killed. Shahnila Rath PTI MNA told the National Assembly as Dodo Bheel death in mysterious circumstance echoed in the House.

Ms Rath was taking part in the the National Assembly debate on the death of labourer Dodo Bheel after being tortured by security guards of the Thar Coal Mines Company.

Shahnila Rath said that when the Hindu community protested, the police charged them with batons and the case was dropped.

PTI MNA Shahnila Rath was member of fact finding mission constituted by the Human Rights ministry and she also visited the Thar and recorded the statements of victim’s family members, related people and the police officers.

The fact finding mission was led by Lal Malhi, parliamentary Secretary of Human Rights ministry and it has submitted the report to the ministry of Human Rights.

While quoting Lajpal Bheel, a family members of deceased Dodo Bheel, Shahnila Rath said that Dodo Bheel has been accused of theft. There is security at Thar Coal Company and no one can go there.

She said according to Lajpal Bheel said that the police as well as Mahesh Malani and the local MNAs are involved.

PPP MNA Shazia Mari said don’t mention Mahesh Malani’s name, he is a member of National Assembly, you are making false allegations, and you are a PTI worker, not a relative of Dodo Bheel.

Sindh police officials said that the matter was being investigated and that Dodo Bheel’s death was due to violence. The post-mortem report is yet to come, Shahnila Rath told the assembly.

Shazia Mari said that the report should be shared with the committee.
