KARACHI, Feb 18,2022- Dr. Anila Ata-ur-Rehman, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Medical University has challenged the notification of sending her on forced leave.
The case was heard by a two-member bench
The court issued notices to Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Board and Universities. The court sought reply from the parties by February 21.
On February 12, two notifications were issued in which several allegations were made against the petition and Dr. Hakim Ali Abro has was appointed acting Vice Chancellor.
False and baseless allegations are being made against the petitioner, petitioner.
Dr. Anila Ata-ur-Rehman has not completed the four-year legal term of her office, the petitioner said.
On the directive of Sindh Chief Minister, Vice Chancellor Benazir Medical University Larkana Dr. Anila Ata-ur-Rehman, was sent on forced leave.
Noshin Shah Case: University administration questions disclosure of DNA report
Interim charge of Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Larkana handed over to Dr. Hakim Abro. The committee headed by Prof Mohammad Saeed Quraishy Vice Chancellor, Dow Medical University will complete the inquiry against both the VCs within 45 days and submit a report to the Chief Minister of Sindh. The other members of the committee are Prof Dr Saleem Raza Samo VC QUEST Nawabshah, Prof Dr Sajida Dean Faculty of surgery Liaquat Medical university Jamshoro.
Secretary of universities and boards Mureed Rahimoo issued the notification issued by the orders of Sindh Chief Minister says, apparent negligence, mismanagement and maladministration during the incumbency of Dr. Anila Atta Rehman Benazir Bhutto University Larkana, including the incidents of suicidal deaths of students (namely Dr Nimarata and Dr Noshin Shah) which raise the questions about the way and manner affairs of the university are managed.
