Tax proposal on mobile calls, internet data, SMS withdrawn

ISLAMABAD (June 12, 2021): Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said that proposal to tax on mobile calls, internet data and SMS has been withdrawn, as Prime Minister Imran Khan and his cabinet have opposed the imposition of this tax.

Speaking at post budget press conference, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin said, loans of up to Rs 3 lakhs will be given to the poor through Akhwat and Ehsas programs, interest free loan of Rs 5 lakhs will be given for 3 years, resources of the country are with banks, not with the government Man and farmer are not close.

Under the Akhwat programme small loans of 150 billion were advanced, there was recovery of 99%, now decided to give loans through them, the RSP and the Akhwat are guaranteer, and will contact 4 million of the lower class people first.

Shaukat Tarin said that the farmer will be given Rs 1.5 lakh for each crop, in urban areas a family member will be given a loan of Rs 5 lakh so that he can do business. In this budget.

Finance Minister said that interest free loan up to Rs 5 lakh will be given to poor farmers, every poor family will be provided shelter, health card is health insurance, they will teach skills wherever they are needed, our challenge is to grow. He said that loans would be given to small welfare banks from commercial banks, in the first phase 4 million people would be employed, banks would also be given lists of small farmers and the poor, one person from poor families would be trained.

The Finance Minister said that next fiscal year, Rs 500 billion will be collected in additional taxes, will reach non-filers through electricity and gas bills, big retailers have sales of Rs.1500 billion, sales tax has to be levied on all major stores.

Shaukat Tarin said that millions of retailers in the country are working on raw receipts, customers should receive a receipt from the shopkeeper, prizes of up to Rs one lakh will be given on the receipt, such successful schemes have come up in Turkey and other countries.

The Finance Minister said that big traders will be brought under the system under point of sale, track and trace system is being introduced in 4 areas including tobacco, Rs 160 billion has been collected through enforcement this financial year, we have to increase the wholesale market.
