Talpur accuses IRSA of stealing Sindh’s water share

KARACHI: Nawab Yousuf Talpur, chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Water Resources, accused Indus River System Authority (IRSA) of stealing Sindh’s water and said those releasing water from Punjnad to Punjab be identified.

In his letter to IRSA, Nawab Yousuf Talpur said that it should also be pointed out that Sindh was not taken into confidence before the water was released from Panjand.

Talking to media, Nawab Yousuf Talpur, senior member and chairman of the standing committee, said that the water released from Mangla Dam for Sindh was being provided to the Punjab through the Tunssa Barrage. When I came to know, I as chairman of standing committee on Water Resources, got it stopped.
