Speaker has no unlimited powers to postpone assembly session, Attorney General

ISLAMABAD, March 23,2022- Attorney General, Khalid Jawed Khan said that it would have been better, if Justice Qazi Faez Isa had not made the letter to the Chief Justice a public document.

Speaking at the Geo News program Capital Talk, the Attorney General said the speaker has no unlimited powers to postpone the assembly session.

In another TV program, Khalid Jawed Khan said that Article 95, in his view, allows that a member of Parliament can vote voluntarily and that member’s vote will also be counted.

The Attorney General said the speaker cannot exclude the votes of dissident members from the counting.
