Govt attempts to convince MQM: No confidence motion

ISLAMABAD, March 23,2022- A government delegation met with the MQM -Pakistan leaders as the government made another attempt to convince the allies on the issue of non-confidence motion against the PTI government.

According to sources, the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Defense Minister Pervez Khattak and Minister for Planning Asad Umer called on the United MQM- Pakistan leaders.

A delegation of government met at the residence of MQM chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at the Parliament Lodge. Aamir Khan and Wasim Akhtar were also present on the occasion.

Sources said that the government delegation requested the MQM Pakistan not to leave the coalition and said that they will fulfill the promises.

According to sources, during the conversation, MQM complained that they had been ally for three and a half years. Their offices are still closed and the missing persons have not been recovered.

Yesterday, there was telephonic contact took place between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and convener MQM- Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
Former Pakistan President, Asif Ali Zardari asked Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, what decision did he make on the non-confidence mtion, sources said.

Asif Ali Zardari told Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, “I have told you to stay in touch with me directly and with Bilawal”, sources said.
