Sindh Local body elections: 946 candidates elected unopposed

KARACHI: In the first phase of local body elections in 14 districts of Sindh, 946 candidates were elected unopposed, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan. 

In Kishmore Kandakot, 96 candidates have been elected unopposed. In Kambar Shahdkot 70 and in Jacobabad have won 135 seats, Shikarpur 94, Larkana 11, Mirpurkhas 65 and Umerkot 69 candidates were elected unopposed.
According to Election Commission, no submit nomination papers were filed in two wards of Ghotki district.
The majority of the unopposed elected candidates are from the PPP.
In the first phase of the local body elections, polling was to be held for 6277 constituencies, but now polling will be held for 5331 seats.
