PML-Q stands divided in assemblies

Differences between Choudhry brothers sharpen

LAHORE, June 9,2022- Due to differences between Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, PML-Q is also divided in the Houses.

Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has the support of most members of PML-Q in the National Assembly and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in the Punjab Assembly.

Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain’s son Hussain Elahi has also said goodbye to the family party and left the decision of future politics to the discretion of Monis Elahi. After the political distance between Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi came to light, their views have also become divided.

The PML-Q has five members in the National Assembly, including Chaudhry Salek, Tariq Bashir Cheema and Begum Farrukh Khan with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Monis and Chaudhry Hussain Elahi with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

This division is also in the Punjab Assembly but here, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has the upper hand as he has the support of Bao Rizwan, Abdullah Warraich, Saadat Nawaz, Sajid Bhatti and Khadija Umar Farooqui.

Dr. Afzal Chaudhry of Tariq Bashir Cheema Group is supporting Shujaat Hussain.

The Chaudhry family was divided over the no-confidence motion against the Imran Khan government. If there is no reconciliation, it may be time to expel each other from the party. For this, separate meetings may be convened.

Some family friends are trying for patch up between the two groups
