Sindh govt to pay SST on behalf of NDMA

KARACHI- Jul 17, 2021 – NDMA requested Sindh Cabinet to exempt rainwater harvesting project from Sindh Sales Tax (SST) which makes SST Rs 1.2 billion.

The cabinet observed that exempting rainwater drainage project from SST would be wrong example. Hence Sindh cabinet refuses to grant immunity to NDMA.

Police not to arrest accused just by appearing in FIR

Sindh cabinet approved amendment to law 26 of police rules. According to the rules, the police will not arrest the accused just by appearing in the FIR. Now the police will gather evidence and arrest his senior with permission to make an arrest.

Sindh Cabinet had decided in July 2020 to make excise department security-featured number plates from NRTC.

Committee to review temporary employees

A committee was constituted consisting Imtiaz Sheikh, Ismail Rahu, Jam Ikram Dharejo and Bari Pitafi to review the cases of temporary employees of various departments and make recommendations on making them permanent.
