KARACHI Aug 8,2021 – Schools in Sindh will remain closed till August 19, however examinations will continue as per schedule, says a notification issued on Sunday.

Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah addressing a press conference in Karachi along with Minister for University and Boards Ismail Rahu said that schools in Sindh province will remain closed until August 19, the 10 Moharram.

Syed Sardar Shah said that processions start from 7th Muharram which causes inconvenience to children, therefore schools will remain closed till August 19. “We will convene another meeting on 8 Muharram to review the situation.”

He said that Pakistan Medical Commission would have to work with the provinces and added though education is a provincial matter but it is bound by NCOC. Vaccination of teachers and staff will also be monitored.

Sindh Education Minister said, we want to get rid of the teachers recruited in the 90s and added that we have to innovate in our curriculum.

Sardar Shah also said that we will try to remove the contradictions in the decisions of the federation and the province, we have to review our curriculum, we are still teaching the miracles of radio.

On the occasion, Minister for Universities and Boards Ismail Rahu said that cheating in examinations will not be allowed, if the school system is improved then parents will bring their children to government schools.

He also said that it has been decided to start the remaining papers of Inter from August 10, copy will not be allowed in the examinations.
