SC seeks report about occupation of govt lands in Jacobabad

KARACHI, (June 16, 2021) The Supreme Court sought review report about occupation of government land in Jacobabad at the Karachi Registry. Chief Minister’s Advisor Ejaz Jakhrani, Aslam Abro, Mumtaz Jakhrani and others appeared before the court.

The court ordered a review the documents relating to the construction of hotels, private schools and bungalows on government land.

Commissioner Larkana, Deputy Commissioner Jacobabad and DPO will review these properties and present a report on the next hearing.

The court expressed displeasure over the non-appearance of DPO Jacobabad during the hearing.

Chief Justice asked Mumtaz Jakhrani if the land of Jacobabad was his jagir? Mumtaz Jakhrani said he has purchased the land. The Chief Justice said vacuate the whole land, take the money from whom you purchased it. The court ordered the demolition of the Harmain Hotel on Sessions Court Road.

The court also ordered the release of all government land, including a girls’ school. The court also ordered the restoration of the animal hospital.

On the occasion, Aslam Abro, the owner of the hotel, asked he should also be heard, as to why his personal land was being taken over, on which the court said the commissioner would review the documents and decide on the matter.
