LAHORE: Saad Rizvi, the head of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), has been placed to the list of suspected terrorists in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

A notification issued by the home department of the Punjab government Saad Rizvi will not be able to use any bank account or buy or sell property.

His assets have been frozen, and his national identity card has been blocked.

Presently Saad Rizvi is in custody.

The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NCTA) has also added TLP to list of banned organisation.

Following the ban the process of freezing the assets of TLP and blocking the identity cards and passports of party officials has begun and later the collection of donations from the banned organization has also been banned.

Saad Rizvi has to deposit his original passport at the concerned police station. A person included in the 4th schedule has to seek prior permission from the concerned police station to go elsewhere from permanent residence.

Source said the ban, concerned institutions have initiated the process of freezing the assets of TLP and blocking the identity cards and passports of party officials.

The government has also banned collection of donations for the banned organization.

On Saturday PM through a tweet explained that TLP was banned because “it challenged the writ of the state and used street violence, attacking the public and law enforcers.”

On Thursday, the federal government declared the TLP a proscribed organisation under anti-terrorism laws and launched a broad crackdown against the party.
