PTI protest in Karachi: Police mobile set on fire, several police officials injured

A police mobile was set on fire, while several policemen including an SP were injured as protests intensified in the evening at Numaesh Chowrangi in Karachi.

Police stormed a rally to disperse removing hundreds of protesters.

Riots took place at Khudadad Colony Chowrangi and Noorani Chowrangi.

Earlier, PTI workers tried to gather at the Numaesh Chowrangi, police charged batons to disperse the workers while three policemen were injured when PTI workers pelted stones at them.

PTI workers closed Noorani Signal and Khudadad Signal and all nearby shops. PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman reached Khudadad Colony Signal.

Police also fired in the air to disperse the workers at Numaesh Chowrangi. DIG East arrived at Noorani signal to assess the situation.

Two police mobiles were also damaged by the pelting of stones by the protesters.
