President Arif Alvi files Reko Diq reference in Supreme Court

President Dr. Arif Alvi filed the Recodec reference in the Supreme Court.

On behalf of the State the President will take an opinion from the Supreme Court on the agreement with the foreign company in the Reko Diq issue.

It should be noted that the Federal Government had approved the Reko Diq Reference.

On the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Dr. Arif Alvi has filed a reference in the Supreme Court.

Earlier, President Dr. Arif Alvi, on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, approved the summary of filing a reference in the Reko Diq Project in the Supreme Court of Pakistan under Article 186 of the Constitution.

According to the House of Representatives, the Apex Committee headed by the Finance Minister and the Tethyan Copper Company Pakistan (Pvt) Limited had agreed on a framework for the settlement and rehabilitation of the Reko Diq project in March this year.

The Federal Cabinet, in its meeting on September 30, approved the filing of this reference in the Supreme Court under Article 186 of the Constitution regarding certain questions of law of public importance.

Reko Diq located in Chaghai district of Balochistan is a large copper and gold deposit containing 12.3 million tons of copper and 20.9 million ounces of gold in inferred and indicated resources.
