The Prime Minister has ordered inquiry against a senior joint secretary of Cabinet Division for his objectionable remarks on social media.

Prime Minister under Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020in his capacity as ‘Authority’ has appointed Sanaullah Abbasi Director General, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad, as Inquiry ·Officer to conduct  inquiry proceedings against Hammad Shamimi (SG/BS-21), Senior Joint Secretary, Cabinet Division, Islamabad. Under Rule 9(l)(c) of the Rules, Section Officer (D.1), Establishment Division, Islamabad, is appointed as Departmental Representative to perform the functions mentioned in Rule 15 of Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020, says inquiry order.

The statement of allegations said that Hammad Shamimi have made the highly objectionable comments on social media platform/group in violation of Rule 22 of Government Servants Conduct Rule 1964 and instructions contained in Para 4 (iii), (iv) and (v) of guiding instructions for using social media by the government servants.

The inquiry shall be completed within sixty (60) days from the date of issuance or within such extended period which the Authority may allow.

The Inquiry Officer shall submit Inquiry Report to the Authority within seven (07) days of the completion of the inquiry with clear findings as to whether the charge or charges have been proved or not proved and with specific recommendations regarding exoneration or imposition of minor or major penalty or penalties upon the accused officer.
