Anticipated reduction in petrol prices in January

Petroleum products prices are likely to become more expensive from November 1.

According to sources, petrol can be as expensive as Rs 6.5 per liter, while diesel price is likely to increase by up to Rs 8 per liter. The change in the prices of petroleum products will depend on the petroleum levy and GST.

At present, the levy on a liter of petrol is Rs 5.62, while the levy on a liter of diesel is Rs 5.14.

Petrol prices to go up to Rs 11.50 per liter

Sources said that the reasons for the rise in prices of petroleum products are the rise in dollar and crude oil prices till October 26.

The Finance Ministry will take the final decision on rise in the prices of petroleum products in consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
