Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo of Balochistan Awami Party has been elected unopposed as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.

The development took place a day after Bizenjo gained the support of PTI Parliamentary Leader Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, who announced that he was pulling out of the race and backing Bizenjo for the CM’s slot.

A session of the Balochistan Assembly was held on Friday, under the chairmanship of Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musa Khel in which voting for the election of Chief Minister took place.

BAP’s Sarfraz Chakar Domki became the second to register to vote, while Hazara Democratic Party’s Qadir Ali Nail became the third to register to vote.

Speaker Balochistan Assembly Sardar Babar Musa Khel announced the election of Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo as the unopposed Chief Minister of Balochistan after the completion of the voting process.

Earlier in the day, the Balochistan Assembly session in Quetta started with a delay of one and a half hours.

The lone Chief Ministerial candidate Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo and most of the members of the House were present while other Opposition members including Leader of the Opposition Malik Sikandar Advocate did not reach the House.
