No hope for funds from the Climate Change Conference

KARACHI, Nov 2,2022- There is no expectation that Pakistan will receive funds from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) as relief or aid for flood disasters.

This international conference will be held in Egypt from November 6 to November 18.

Federal Minister for Climate Change, Sherry Rehman, in an interview, confirmed that this forum is not a forum for IMF, World Bank or debt waiving, but this forum is only a forum for making agreements on carbon emissions and pollution.

In response to a question, she said that “COP” had a green claim fund of 100 billion dollars and it was decided that countries responsible for spreading pollution, including rich countries, the United States, China and the United Kingdom, should contribute 100 billion dollars to this fund every year. But they have not provided funds for many years. Even if we give a project, it takes three years to approve it.

Sherry Rehman admitted that after the 18th amendment, redeployment could not become a law, if it had become a law, redeployment and redeployment could have been put in between in all kinds of development projects. (News Desk)
