Ahead of the climate change conference, the United Nations has said that 2020 was the hottest year on record in Asia.

The United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in its annual report, State of the Climate Change in Asia, said that every part of the region was affected.

The report also mentions the annual losses due to the risks associated with climate change. China lost 238 billion dollars.

India lost 87 billion dollars, Japan 83 billion dollars and South Korea 24 billion dollars.

The report says that in 2020, severe weather and climate change have not only killed thousands of people in Asia, but also left millions homeless.
