K Electric requests to increase electricity price by more than Rs 1.5

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday has allowed an increase of 69 paisa per unit in electricity tariff for the month of July for K-Electric on account of fuel charges.

The authority approved the Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) of Rs0.6890/kWh for the month of July 2021 having an impact of Rs1,355 million, the notification said.

Electricity prices in Karachi up by 3.64 per unit

The FCA would be recovered in the bills of November 2021.

More increase sought for August

Apart from this increase, the K-Electric, on September 22, had requested the NEPRA to increase the price of electricity by Rs0.97 per unit.

K-Electric earns 9.443 billion net profit in 9 month

According to the regulatory authority, K-Electric had made the request for fuel adjustment charges for the month of August.

The electric company had sought Rs1.76 billion for monthly fuel adjustment, NEPRA had said.
