KARACHI, June 26,2022- MQM Pakistan leader, former Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar has said that dacoits in Sindh have taken away ballot boxes and the ongoing local body elections should be stopped immediately.
Addressing a press conference regarding the first phase of local body elections in Sindh today, Wasim Akhtar said that the Election Commission should look into its performance that the election symbols are not on the ballot papers.
He said that the polling is marked with turnout is low, firing, voters are scared, in this world of fear there can be no clean and transparent elections.
Wasim Akhtar demanded that LB polls in Nawabshah and Mirpur Khas be stopped, voter lists be corrected and delimitation be revised.
MQM leader said that immediately elections should be stopped, worries should be removed first as the market of rigging is hot here. The way elections are being held, this is a question mark on PPP, he added.
Wasim Akhtar also said that the election in the whole of Sindh should be stopped. All political parties are questioning the election process.
