Karachi weather to remain very hot till Wednesday noon

KARACHI: There is little to no chance of rain in Karachi under the influence of tropical cyclone Tauktae, so the weather is expected to remain very hot on Monday and Tuesday, according to Sindh’s chief meteorological officer.

The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “TAUKTAE” after intensifying into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm made landfall at Indian Gujarat last night, weakened into a Severe Cyclonic Storm laying over Rajasthan, India.

A few dust/thunderstorm-rain accompanied with gusty winds of 30-50 Kmph may occur in Tharparker & Umerkot districts during next 12 hours. Hot & dry weather will continue today in Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaeed- Banzirabad, Badin and Mirpurkhas districts.

director of the Meteorological Department Sardar Sarfraz said that cyclone Taukte in Indian Gujarat is now in a state of depression. According to Sardar Sarfraz, there is no danger from the storm now, only strong winds and rain are likely in some parts of Tharparkar district.

He said that sea breezes in Karachi will remain suspended even today and the temperature is likely to go up to 43 degrees Celsius.

Sea breezes will be restored in Karachi from Wednesday afternoon.
