Imran Khan no more Prime Minister, 174 members vote him out

ISLAMABAD, April 10,2022- Imran Khan is no more Prime Minister, NA voted him out. National Assembly adapted the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan with 174 votes.

This does not include any dissident member of PTI. Likewise vote of Ayaz Sadiq was not included as he was chairing the session.  For no-confidence resolution 172 votes were required.

Voting on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran began as PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq was chairing the session.

Instead of resigning from the post of Prime Minister he chose to get resignation from Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri and delayed the voting on no-confidence motion.

Speaker Asad Qaiser resigns

Minutes before that, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser resigned from his post, saying he could not take part in a foreign conspiracy to oust the prime minister.

Before announcing his resignation, Qaiser said that he had received “important documents” from the cabinet, which he invited the leader of the opposition and the Chief Justice of Pakistan to see.

“In line with our laws and the need to stand for our country, I have decided that I can’t remain on the position of speaker and thereby resign,” he said.

Speaker Asad Qaisar, Deputy Speaker of National Assembly have reportedly resigned.

He will announce his resignation in the House.

Imran Khan opted not to resign

Prime Minister Imran Khan decided not to resign under any circumstances.

Imran Khan was seeking NRO: Sources

Sources said that Imran Khan is asking for NRO, the opposition leader said that we are not ready for a compromise.

Senior journalist Hamid Mir revealed that Imran Khan wants the incoming government to guarantee non-filing of NAB cases.

Sources said that the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser had met the opposition leaders and assured them that a no-confidence vote would be held.

Sources said that the speaker was under pressure from some ministers not to hold the voting. The ministers have been directed to seek guarantee from the opposition.

Sources said that the opposition leaders said that Imran Khan was asking for NRO, the opposition leader said that we are not ready for a compromise.

The Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif said that the decision of the Supreme Court should be implemented in any case.

Sources said that some ministers had also met the opposition leaders last night.

No move of Imran Khan will be accepted: Opposition

The United Opposition has said in its latest statement that Imran Khan is no longer the Prime Minister, he has lost all constitutional, legal and moral authority.

The united opposition said that any action of Imran Khan will be accepted by the law, neither the opposition nor the people. When Imran Khan is no longer the Prime Minister, he has lost state or governmental authority.
