IHC suspends recommendation to remove Javed Iqbal from office Chairman of Missing Persons Commission

ISLAABAD, Aug2,2022- Islamabad High Court IHC has suspended the recommendation to remove Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal from the position of Chairman of Missing Persons Commission.

Acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court on the application of Amir Farooq suspended the recommendation of the Public Accounts Committee to remove Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal from the post of Chairman of the Missing Persons Commission.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the Public Accounts Committee decided to write a recommendation letter to remove Javed Iqbal from the position of Chairman of the Commission of Missing Persons.

On this, Justice Amir Farooq said that the issue of powers of the Public Accounts Committee, has been raised in the other two petitions, on which Deputy Attorney General Rashid Kiyani said that the matter has now gone from the PAC to Inquiry Commission.

Later, the court suspended the recommendation of the Public Accounts Committee and issued a notice to the parties on the application against them and asked for a response by August 13.

The court has stopped the parties from taking disciplinary action against the former NAB chairman
