Supreme Court’s verdict: PTI considering options in Punjab

LAHORE, April 30,2022- Punjab crisis at decisive point, as in a bid to hinder the oath taking of new Punjab Chief Minister, the Governor Punjab Omar Sarfraz Cheema rejected the resignation of Usman Buzdar and wrote to the Speaker Punjab Assembly.

The Lahore High Court has directed the Speaker National Assembly yesterday to administer the oath to the Punjab CM elect Hamza Shehbaz on April 30.

Outside the Governor’s House, heavy deployments of police and security have been tightened.
But hour before oath taking Governor Punjab Omar Sarfraz Cheema rejected the resignation of Usman Buzdar.
Governor also wrote a letter to Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

Speaker National Assembly to administer oath to Chief Hamza Shehbaz
In the letter, Governor Punjab Omar Sarfraz Cheema has said that Usman Buzdar did not addressed the resignation of the Governor Punjab, rather he addressed and sent it to the prime minister which is constitutionally incorrect.
PTI claims Buzdar restored
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has claimed that the Governor of Punjab Omar Sarfaraz Cheema’s Chief Minister Punjab was restored after dismissing his resignation on constitutional ground.
The PTI also claimed that the Punjab Cabinet has been restored after resignation of the Chief Minister Buzdar was rejected.
Meanwhile, Usman Buzdar has called a cabinet meeting at the Punjab Assembly.
