Furniture shopkeeper fined for cheating customer

KARACHI – Jul 17,2021 – Judicial Magistrate Javed Ali Korejo fined Al-Furqan Interiorwood for cheating the customer.

The court ordered to return more than Rs 44,000 worth of furniture to the consumer.

The Consumers Protection Court also imposed a total fine of Rs 30,000 on the furniture shop owner. The court orders implementation of court decision within 30 days.

If the court orders are not implemented within the stipulated time, the punishment can be from one month to three years and the fine can be increased to Rs 200,000.

A copy was be sent to SHO Gulistan Johar for implementation of the court decision.

One Abdul Rehman bought seven doors from Al-Furqan Mughal Woods in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

More than Rs45,000 worth doors were purchased by the citizen.

When the door reached the house, there were holes in some of them while some others were found broken.  in one of them.

When he complained to the shopkeeper, he was offered a discount of only Rs12.

The complainant said he was cheated, therefore the court should take action, the petitioner pleaded
