Former BISP chief Farzana Raja summoned thru advt

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court Islamabad has summoned former chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Farzana Raja through advertisement in reference to corruption.

The Accountability Court Judge Asghar Ali initiated proceedings to declare Farzana Raja an absconder in reference to corruption in Benazir Income Support Program.

The court rejected Farzana’s plea for exemption from court appearance while also issuing non-bailable arrest warrants for co-accused Raja Abdul Manaf.

Expressing anger, the court said that Farzana Raja did not appear even once since the reference came.

The judge said that it was not possible she to stay abroad and we would continue to grant immunity. It was also necessary to come to the court once to seek exemption from attendance.

The Islamabad Accountability Court issued notice to Ms Raja to appear before the court within one month through advertisement and ordered that Farzana Raja should appear before the court by May 24, otherwise she would be declared an advertisement.
