Asad Umer hints big cities to be closed

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for Planning and head of the NCOC, Asad Umar, hinted at more restrictions in view of the dire situation in Corona, saying that major cities would have to be closed because of Corona, which will be announced on Friday.

After the NCOC meeting, federal minister Asad Umar told a media briefing that the situation in Corona is very serious, the rate of positive cases of Corona in Karachi has come to 13% and in Hyderabad to 14%.

Umar said that there are multiple cities where the capacity of ventilators has reached 80%. “Another alarming situation is the increase in the supply chain of oxygen in the country.”

Pakistan has tried to control the virus situation with strict implementation of precautionary measures and SOPs. We have to continue doing that because the virus is spreading rapidly in the region, the NCOC chief said.
